On the occasion of Nepal's Glorious 35 years in ILO, GEFONT launches a new website www.labournepal.org The website is not just an effort to copy other labor net series and is quite different. It tries to cover whole world of work. Focused on information, this web site will promote genuine ideal of Decent Work & Dignified Working Class. Labournepal.org continuously will bring all of the activities carried out by tripartite partners of ILO. The website has tried to discharge basic and general information on Nepal and detail information on labour issues. Further, it is aimed to include partners' calendar of activities of the month. The Asian Workers Institute for Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHSE Institute) www.ohseinstitute.org is an OHSE specialized agency founded by the Asian Trade Union movement i.e. ICFTU-APRO and ITS; the original establishment was funded by the Danish LO-FTF Council. The site also provides information on laws and regulations, statistics and issues related to Occupational Health and Safety in Thailand, Malaysia and Mongolia. The ILO web-page (http://www.ilo.org) has a link to The International Occupational Safety and Health Information Center (CIS). CIS has established a worldwide network of national occupational health and safety centers, and produces the CISDOC bibliographic database which includes records of books, articles, safety standards, and chemical and physical hazards information sheets. The center provides bibliographies from CISDOC on a fee paying basis. International labor standards (ILO Conventions and Recommendations and texts of reports on their ratification and application in ILO member States) are also available from the ILO page under ILO publications. The web-page of The Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL), which is Britian's leading industrial health and safety facility, offers a lot of information, including case stories on fire, explosions and process safety, work environment, occupational health and risk assessment (http://www.hsl.gov.uk). HSL is an agency of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and plays a pivotal role in supporting HSE's mission to ensure that risks to people's health and safety from work activities are properly controlled. This involves HSL in two main areas of activity: operational support through incident investigations and studies of workplace situations; and longer term work on analysis and resolution of occupational health and safety problems. HSE has a lot of links to various sources of Health and Safety related information (http://www.hse.gov.uk). |
