Services
IEM provides the following basic types of services:
Training
|
IEM provides training to all its stakeholders that include the
governmental, NGO, private sector and also individuals that express interest in the training programs. To date, all
trainings have been "need based" and as such IEM has refrained from offering "off-the-shelf' courses. These
need based courses are conducted in close
|
|
cooperation of the targeted beneficiaries and are as real world as
possible, and past and current TNA's are used to arrive at the content and formats of training. Due to demand
and interest shown by the public at large, from 2003 pre-designed or off-the-shelf courses will also be offered
covering all aspects of environmental management.
Consultancy / Backstopping
IEM provides technical consultancy services and conducts interventions and backstopping services with technical
and managerial inputs for the services. These are all on a fee basis and the inputs range from one month to one
year, depending on the types of services required. Currently these are done on the basis of Industrial
Development Groups in multiple locations in Nepal. In the near future, these services can be further extended to
individual industries on a "fast track" basis.
Networking
|
IEM participates actively in networks consisting of professionals and national and international developmental
institutions. IEM maintains contacts, coordinates information exchange and organizes meetings and seminars.
Networking allows IEM to use and develop synergies between partners, to
|
|
optimize the utilization of resources,
and to avoid duplication of efforts. Networking is also a significant source for obtaining ground level information of
the needs of the various target sectors of IEM. It is also a source for obtaining qualified individuals to conduct or
participate in our programs.
